Hindi remake of Baby back on track with Aaishvary Thackeray
After the surprise success of the 2023 Telugu thriller Baby, directed by Sai Rajesh and starring Anand Deverakonda, the Hindi remake has finally found fresh momentum. The project, which had an earlier setback, is now moving forward with a new lead.
Casting shuffle: from Babil Khan to Aaishvary Thackeray
Initially, Babil Khan — the son of the late Irrfan Khan — was signed for the Hindi version and had even started shooting before stepping away due to health reasons. The makers have now recast the role with Aaishvary Thackeray, who will take on the part that brought Anand Deverakonda wide acclaim in the original.
Meet the female lead
Joining Aaishvary is upcoming Telugu actress Upasana Shetty, pairing with him for the first time in this Hindi adaptation. The combination aims to retain the tense, gritty feel of the original while giving it a new flavour for Hindi audiences.
Team behind the remake
The remake remains with its original director, Sai Rajesh, and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. With the director returning to helm the Hindi version, expectations are that the film will stick closely to the intense tone that made the Telugu original a hit.
What’s next
With the casting settled, the team is expected to get back into production soon. Aaishvary Thackeray also has other notable projects on his plate, including a Yash Raj Films action outing and work as a composer on Alpha, keeping him in the spotlight as this remake moves forward.
Fans of the original will be watching closely to see how the Hindi version adapts the thriller’s twists and how the new cast interprets these layered roles.
