Bollywood actor Mrunal Thakur has been signed as the face of Carlton Wellness, the premium wellness-hospitality arm of the rapidly expanding EBG Group. The partnership, effective from FY 2025–26, will place Mrunal at the centre of Carlton Wellness’s brand films, digital storytelling, experiential campaigns and marquee property launches across India.
Why Mrunal Thakur?
EBG Group’s chairman, Dr Irfan Khan, explained the choice: Mrunal’s screen persona and off-screen lifestyle “authentically align with wellness, balance and mindful living.” The actor is known for her modern grace, discipline and understated luxury — qualities that the group says mirror Carlton’s focus on holistic, preventive and longevity-focused wellbeing.
Mrunal herself said, “Wellness is deeply personal to me. Carlton’s approach goes beyond luxury—it focuses on balance, healing, and inner wellbeing. I’m excited to associate with a brand that encourages people to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and prioritise holistic health.”
What is Carlton Wellness planning?
Carlton Wellness is being positioned as a premium, integrated wellness-hospitality platform. Its portfolio will include:
- Wellness resorts and destination retreats
- City and hotel-based wellness spas
- Wellness-oriented vacation homes and residences
The model pairs clinical and experiential offerings — from Ayurveda and naturopathy to mindfulness and hydrotherapy — and aims to adapt global wellness standards for Indian lifestyles with strong emphasis on longevity and preventive care.
Where will you see Carlton Wellness first?
Several Carlton Wellness Spa formats are already planned for premium partner locations, and licensed spa projects are live within select hospitality and real estate developments. Flagship retreats and resorts are in advanced stages in Ahmedabad, Indore and Manipal.
Expansion roadmap
The group has laid out an aggressive rollout across metros and Tier-1 cities. Short- and medium-term plans include:
- Immediate expansion to Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Lucknow, Bangalore and Manipal
- 2026 push into Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and select NCR/metro hubs
- Ambition to open 20–30 new wellness spas in metros and Tier-1 cities
- 4–6 destination wellness retreats and 2–3 boutique wellness resorts in nature-led or coastal locations
- 1–2 luxury wellness residential or vacation-home projects
Financial targets and long-term vision
Backed by this pipeline, EBG-Carlton projects revenues of Rs 80–120 crores for FY 2025–26, scaling to Rs 180–250 crores in FY 2026–27. Revenue will come from spa operations and memberships, retreat bookings, licensing and revenue-share models, managed wellness homes, and curated brand collaborations.
Over the next five years the alliance aims to cement flagship assets and urban spa leadership by 2025–26, expand to over 50 wellness touchpoints nationwide by 2027–28, and emerge by 2029–30 as India’s largest regulated wellness network with plans for international expansion into GCC and Southeast Asian markets.
What this means for Bollywood and wellness consumers
For Mrunal Thakur, this marks another high-profile brand tie-up that aligns with her personal image of balance and wellness. For Carlton Wellness and EBG Group, having a popular actor as brand ambassador brings mainstream visibility to a category that combines clinical credibility with experiential luxury. Expect to see Mrunal star in the brand’s films, experiential campaigns and property launches as Carlton rolls out its offerings across India.
Final note
With a blend of conscious luxury, longevity science and a scaled rollout plan, the EBG–Carlton platform is aiming not just to cater to affluent wellness seekers but to shape a more regulated and aspirational wellness ecosystem for modern India — with Mrunal Thakur as its public face.
