Thamma composer Sachin Sanghvi faces sexual harassment FIR
Maddock Films’ hit Thamma is doing well at the box office, but the film’s music director Sachin Sanghvi — one half of composer duo Sachin-Jigar — is now in the headlines for a serious off-screen allegation. A 29-year-old woman has filed an FIR accusing Sanghvi of sexual harassment and assault after she says he promised her a role in a music video and even marriage.
What the complaint says
The complainant alleges that Sanghvi sexually assaulted her following those promises. Police registered an FIR and detained Sanghvi; he was later released on bail. There has been no public statement from Sachin himself so far.
Legal response and social media
Sanghvi’s lawyer, Aditya Mithe, called the allegations “absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated,” and described his client’s detention as “illegal.” He said the defence will “fully and unequivocally” contest the charges. Meanwhile, Sachin’s personal Instagram account @soulfulsachin has been deactivated; the official Sachin-Jigar account remains active.
Past controversies linked to Maddock Films
This is not the first time a Maddock Films project has been linked to allegations of sexual misconduct. During the run of Stree 2, choreographer Jani Master (Shaik Jani Basha) was accused by a former assistant of harassment and assault stretching over several years, starting when she was a minor. Jani Master was arrested by Cyberabad police in Goa on September 19, 2024, and later confessed. The Telangana High Court granted regular bail on October 24, 2024, with directions to cooperate with the investigation and avoid contacting the victim.
Where things stand
The matter involving Sachin Sanghvi is under investigation. With an FIR filed and Sanghvi out on bail, further legal proceedings and inquiries are expected. Fans and industry observers are watching closely for updates and any official comment from the composer.
