Call Me Bae returns — season 2 to roll by November 2025
Ananya Panday is set to don the stylish, spirited avatar of Bae again as Call Me Bae prepares for its second season. The coming-of-age dramedy from Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video India in September 2024, got a warm response — and now the makers are ready to get back to work.
When will filming begin?
Mid-Day cites a source close to the production saying prep for season 2 began soon after the show’s release, and filming is expected to go on floors by the end of November 2025. The insider adds that the cast will be in front of the camera in the coming weeks.
What the new season will explore
The creative team plans to build on the themes that struck a chord with viewers. The first season’s #HashtagBehencode storyline and a #MeToo track resonated particularly with female audiences, and the makers intend to continue delivering an empowering message — while keeping the show’s breezy, humorous tone intact.
Cast and crew updates
- Ananya Panday returns as Bae.
- Director Collin D’Cunha is expected to reprise his role behind the camera.
- Much of the original ensemble — Gurfateh Pirzada, Vihaan Samat, Muskkan Jaferi and Niharika Lyra Dutt — are likely to be back.
The makers aim to deepen the show’s focus on sisterhood, one of season one’s highlights, while ramping up both humour and emotional drama.
Ananya’s recent and upcoming work
On the big screen, Ananya was last seen in Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. She was recently spotted shooting for her next film, Chand Mera Dil, opposite Lakshya Lalwani, keeping busy between film and OTT commitments.
Fans can expect more updates as production ramps up toward late November, when Call Me Bae 2 officially starts filming.
