On November 23, the much-anticipated film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas, officially went on floors with a muhurat ceremony that set fans buzzing across social media.
Starry muhurat and notable guests
The puja was attended by key members of the team, including Triptii Dimri, producer Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga and Shiv Chanana. Megastar Chiranjeevi joined as the chief guest, lending the event extra gravitas. Though Prabhas was present for the ceremony, production photos released by the team did not feature him.
Vanga and Prabhas team up for the first time
This marks the first collaboration between Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prabhas, a pairing that has generated considerable excitement since October. Vanga teased the project with a unique audio-led teaser called a “Sound Story,” released on the actor’s birthday, which teased the tone and temperament of the film.
What the Sound Story revealed
The Sound Story opens in a prison setting, with a tense exchange between a jailer and his team as they prepare to handle a former police officer turned prisoner. The most talked-about moment is Prabhas’s voice delivery: “Sir, since childhood I have one bad habit.” The audio was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam and has already driven strong online engagement.
What to expect from Spirit
Produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is being billed as a large-scale, pan-world action drama. Prabhas is said to play a fierce, uncompromising cop, while Triptii Dimri joins in a significant role. Sandeep Reddy Vanga has called this one of the most ambitious projects of his career.
With principal photography now underway, fans can expect more updates in the coming months as the team moves into the next phase of production.
