Celina Jaitly opens up after filing domestic violence case against husband
Actress-turned-activist Celina Jaitly shared a heartfelt Instagram note after reports emerged that she has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband, businessman Peter Haag. The case, registered at the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Andheri, reportedly seeks damages of Rs 50 crore along with compensation for alleged loss of income and property, according to ANI.
Her emotional message
In an emotional Instagram post, Celina described this time as the “strongest, most turbulent storm” of her life. She wrote that she has been fighting largely alone, without the support of parents or a family structure, and never imagined feeling such solitude. “Life stripped everything away. People I trusted walked away. Promises I believed in broke in silence,” she said.
Despite the pain, Celina insisted the ordeal has not crushed her. Instead, she said it has “delivered” her and helped her find new strength — something she credits to being “a soldier’s daughter” raised with discipline and grit. Her stated priorities now are clear: fighting for her children, for her brother, and for her dignity.
Legal team and next steps
Celina thanked her lawyers at Karanjawala & Co., calling them the “shield” she needed during this crisis. She named the lawyers handling the matter as Sandeep Kapur, Niharika Karanjawala Misra, and Rytim Vohra Ahuja, and asked media outlets to contact them for any official comments since the case is sub judice.
Family background
Celina and Peter Haag married in 2011. The couple welcomed twin boys in 2012 and another set of twins in 2017; one of the younger twins tragically died shortly after birth due to a heart defect. They are currently parents to three children.
Where things stand
The matter is now before the court, and both legal and personal developments are likely to unfold in the coming weeks. Celina’s public post adds a personal voice to the legal filing, signalling she will take a public and legal stand as the case proceeds.
