Ravi Kishan has moved quickly to squash rumours that he’s replacing Boman Irani in the much-awaited sequel Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. As the film’s Delhi schedule gets underway, Kishan confirmed his role is entirely new and that the original cast remains intact.
“I am not replacing him” — Ravi Kishan clears the air
Joining the project for the current phase of shooting in Delhi, Kishan told HT City he was thrilled to be part of the film. “I was so excited to be joining this cast. I will be a part of the Delhi schedule,” he said. Addressing the replacement rumours head-on, he added, “Everyone is there, I am not replacing him. Mine is a new character.” He also teased fans by calling the script “amazing” and promising a very different avatar.
Shooting update: Delhi schedule and locations
The sequel to the 2006 cult classic recently began its Delhi stretch. The current schedule is expected to run for around 20 days, with much of the story reportedly taking place inside a house — a choice that echoes the intimate setting of the original film while the sequel broadens its backdrop.
- Primary shooting base: Delhi
- Other planned spots: Noida, Gurugram, Connaught Place
- Duration: Approximately 20 days for the current schedule
Boman Irani’s role remains — he’ll join the shoot
Speculation about Kishan stepping into the role of Kishan Khurana began after Boman Irani was not present on the first day of filming. However, sources confirmed Irani will join the shoot from January 8, reinforcing that his iconic character returns in the sequel.
Co-stars welcome Ravi Kishan
News of Kishan’s inclusion was met with warm reactions from the cast. Veteran actor Anupam Kher publicly welcomed him on Instagram, calling Kishan a “brilliant actor and a great human being” and describing the collaboration as “super special.”
Why fans are excited
With the original film still fondly remembered for its sharp humour and tight ensemble, the sequel’s mix of familiar faces and new additions has raised anticipation. Kishan’s promise of a fresh avatar, together with the film’s mix of private, house-bound drama and wider city locations, suggests the makers are aiming to retain the original’s charm while expanding the story’s canvas.
As filming continues in Delhi and nearby areas, audiences can expect more updates on cast, characters and release plans. For now, the message from set is clear: Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 will bring back the spirit of the original, with new twists and some exciting new faces — and Ravi Kishan is one of them, not a replacement.
