Siddhant Chaturvedi denies Dear Comrade remake rumours
Siddhant Chaturvedi has finally addressed the buzz around his alleged casting in the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Dear Comrade. Taking to his Instagram Stories, the actor put the rumours to rest with a clear message to fans and media.
“Just to clarify guys, this isn’t true,” Siddhant wrote, adding a firm creative stance: “No remakes for me anymore, even though I’m a fan of the original film and the actors, much love and respect. Thank you.”
Where the rumours began
Speculation started after reports linked Siddhant — fresh from his role in Dhadak 2 — and Laapataa Ladies’ breakout Pratibha Ranta as the possible lead pair for the Hindi version of the 2019 romantic action drama. Industry chatter suggested that major production houses were in early talks to adapt the Vijay Deverakonda–Rashmika Mandanna film for Hindi audiences, which sent fan pages and tabloids into overdrive.
Not closed to collaborating with Pratibha
While Siddhant firmly rejected being part of the remake, he didn’t shut the door on working with Pratibha Ranta altogether. He praised her work and wrote that he’d “love to collaborate with the supremely talented @pratibha_ranta on something original.” That hint at a future original project keeps the possibility of a pairing alive — but on fresh material rather than a remake.
Pratibha Ranta asks media to wait for confirmations
Pratibha, who gained attention from Laapataa Ladies, responded more cautiously on her Instagram Story. Rather than confirming or denying casting reports, she appealed to pages and outlets to stop spreading unverified news.
“With due respect, I kindly request all media pages to please refrain from posting or circulating any unverified information and wait for an official announcement,” she wrote, noting that false associations have caused confusion for her before.
About Dear Comrade and the remake talk
Directed by Bharat Kamma, Dear Comrade struck a chord in 2019 with its mix of romance, action and emotional drama. The film’s strong fan base and memorable music made it a natural candidate for remakes in other languages. Reports have suggested that rights were picked up by interested studios, but as of now there are no confirmed producers, directors or official cast announcements for a Hindi adaptation.
Quick facts

What’s next for Siddhant and the wider picture
For now Siddhant is focused on his upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, which is slated for release around Valentine’s week in February 2026. His public refusal to sign remakes suggests he’s looking for original work that allows him to expand his creative choices.
As for the Dear Comrade remake, fans will have to wait for formal confirmation from producers. Until then, the industry can expect more speculation — and likely more polite pushbacks from actors who prefer to control how their names are used in casting rumours.
