Siddhanth Kapoor questioned in Rs 252-crore drug probe
Bollywood actor Siddhanth Kapoor was questioned for nearly five hours on Tuesday by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch in connection with the high-profile Rs 252-crore mephedrone case. He arrived at the ANC Ghatkopar unit around 1 pm and left at about 6 pm after giving a detailed statement.
What happened during the interrogation
Officials said the police recorded a 10–12-page statement from Kapoor. Despite the lengthy session, investigators described his account as incomplete, and he is likely to be summoned again for further questioning as the probe continues.
Questions about a party
Sources indicate the questioning focused partly on Kapoor’s possible presence at a party in India where drugs were reportedly consumed. Investigators are seeking clarity on who attended and what transpired, so Kapoor’s further cooperation is expected to be sought.
Orry issued second summons
The ANC has also issued a second summons to social media influencer Orry, who missed his initial appearance. Orry’s lawyer told police the influencer will not be available for questioning until after November 25, delaying that line of inquiry for now.
Probe status
- The case relates to a large mephedrone seizure estimated at Rs 252 crore.
- ANC and Mumbai Crime Branch continue to follow leads and call witnesses or suspects as needed.
- Authorities say more summons and interrogations are likely as the investigation unfolds.
The investigation remains active, with Mumbai police pursuing all leads to establish the extent of involvement by those linked to the case.
