Trailer out: a documentary for the unsung stars
Aamir Khan Productions has released the trailer for Sitaaron Ke Sitaare, a short documentary that shifts the spotlight from the screen to the people who quietly shaped the journey — the parents of the child actors from the film Sitaare Zameen Par.
What the trailer shows
The trailer offers intimate, everyday moments: conversations filled with pride, the small struggles of balancing dreams and life, and the emotional labour behind nurturing young talent. It’s less about glamour and more about the real, heartfelt stories that unfolded off-camera as these kids grew into performers.
Who made it and when to watch
Directed by Shaanib Bakshi, Sitaaron Ke Sitaare continues Aamir Khan Productions’ taste for unconventional storytelling. The documentary premieres on 19th December exclusively on Aamir Khan Talkies’ YouTube channel.
Context: building on Sitaare Zameen Par
The documentary builds on the goodwill of Sitaare Zameen Par, the family sports comedy-drama that starred Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh and released in theatres on June 20, 2025. R. S. Prasanna directed the film and introduced ten young actors who quickly became audience favourites.

Why it matters
Beyond behind-the-scenes curiosity, Sitaaron Ke Sitaare highlights the human side of filmmaking — the sacrifices, the quiet celebrations and the passing-on of ambition from one generation to the next. It also follows Aamir Khan Productions’ recent move to widen access to Sitaare Zameen Par through the “Janta Ka Theater” initiative, which made the film available on YouTube at a nominal price.
For anyone who loved the film or is curious about the real lives behind child actors, the documentary promises a warm, honest look at the families who helped those young stars shine.
