Teaser lands after warm IFFI reception
The teaser for Oslo: A Tail of Promise, which won hearts at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, has been released. The short first look carries the same gentle, emotional tone that moved audiences at the festival, offering a quiet but powerful glimpse into the film’s world.
A simple, powerful story
Presented and produced by actor and animal advocate John Abraham, the non-fiction film follows the bond between a Siberian husky named Oslo and Pooja R Bhale, founder of the Protecterra Ecological Foundation. Rather than flashy drama, the film leans on intimacy and small moments to tell a universal story about care, trust and healing.
Voices from the team
“The teaser is only a window, but even in those few moments, people can feel Oslo’s presence and Pooja’s truth. That is all I hoped for,” John Abraham says, adding that the film asks viewers to pause and see life through another being’s eyes.
Director Isha Pungaliya describes the reaction at IFFI as deeply moving: “We knew this story carried its own strength, but watching people connect so instantly and so emotionally has been incredibly moving. Animals remind us who we can be at our best. Oslo carries that reminder in every frame.”
Pooja Bhale reflects on Oslo’s role in her life: “Oslo came into my life as a traumatised dog looking for a home, and he became my teacher. He taught me to surrender, to accept, to love without fear. This film is his legacy.”
Why the film matters
At a time when conversations about animal welfare are growing, the film is a gentle reminder of how animals offer loyalty and companionship without expectation. It highlights how non-human relationships can ground and heal us when the world feels fractured.
